Culver City Art Sessions in the Secret Garden — August, September
This fall we’ll be hosting another series of Art Sessions in collaboration with artist and teacher, Naomi Hudson-Knapp.
This session we’ll be exploring two new media— clay and collage. We’ll be forming, glazing, and firing pinch pots — all while learning to appreciate their wabi-sabi quality. And then we’ll be creating abstract, minimal, textured collages from paper and textiles.
Each week we’ll also do a short writing exercise that loosely connects the medium we’re working with to our lived experience. You do not need to share your writing with the group if you wish to keep it private, and you certainly don’t need any writing experience to enjoy the exercises together.
We’ll serve wine and light snacks each week, and we’ll work under the twinkle lights as the evenings get shorter.
August 25, September 1, September 8
We’ll be hosting the series in Naomi’s cozy secret garden, nestled between her home and her art studio. We’ll send the exact address the day prior to the first event, but it’s within walking distance of Platform in Culver City.
We have limited seating in the garden, so we’ll be taking only eight students this series.
The ticket price is broken down as:
$120 for the three workshops and $65 for the art materials, kiln firing, and snacks
